A negotiators workshop on the legal issues and challenges related to climate change was held in Bangladesh on September 22nd 2013. Organised by the Centre for Climate Justice-Bangladesh (CCJ-B) in collaboration with the Department of the Environment (DoE), Ministry of Environment and Forest and the Legal Response Initiative (LRI). The aim was to build and strengthen legal capacity on climate change in the country; focusing on the complex legal issues involved with ongoing UNFCCC negotiations and taking into account the legally binding instrument to be adopted by 2015, by the Parties of UNFCCC. The workshop also looked at developing a domestic legal framework to deal with climate change impacts at the national level.
