2019 Bonn Seminar

The 2019 ecbi Bonn Seminar was hosted by the City of Bonn in the Altes Rathaus on 23 June. It was attended by 40 climate negotiators from 30 developing and European countries.

After a welcoming address on behalf of the host by Stefan Wagner, Head of the Department of International Affairs and Global Sustainability of the City of Bonn, Anju Sharma (ecbi) opened the proceedings with a presentation on "Common Time Frames", followed by an update on the state of the relevant negotiations by Marianne Karlsen (Norway). 

This was followed by a discussion on "The Past, Present and Future of the Collective Quantified Goal for Climate Finance and Innovative Sources for Multilateral Climate Finance" kicked of by a presentation by Benito Müller (ecbi), and facilitated by Tosi Mpanu-Mpanu (DRC).
 
After a coffee break, the discussion turned to "Financing the transition to net-zero  - Implementing the Paris Agreement, Agenda 2030 and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on development finance", led by Matthias Frumerie (Sweden) and facilitated by Carlos Fuller (Belize).
 
Finally, Axel Michaelowa (Perspectives Climate Group) gave a presentation on "Negotiating Cooperation under Article 6", based on a draft ecbi policy brief. The lively discussion that followed facilitated by  Kishan Kumarsingh (Trinidad & Tobago).
