ecbi's annual 2026 Bonn Seminar convened on 14 June on the sidelines of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body (SB) meetings.  Over 40 participants from developing and European countries discussed the Mitigation Work Programme (MWP) and the Just Transition Work Programme (JTWP), as well as expectations for UNFCCC COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, in November, where the future of the two Work Programmes will be decided. Discussions also took place on reforming and streamlining the multilateral climate process to make it more responsive to the current phase of implementing the Paris Agreement, and on new innovative sources of funding for loss and damage.
